Please note that the techniques used by this old program are obsolete — CSS shapes produce the same effects (and more) with much less work.

The pngslice program is a tool for the implementation of Eric Meyer's ragged floats. This is an HTML technique which allows text to flow around an irregularly shaped image. The idea is to slice the image into thin strips which are trimmed and stacked vertically.

The pngslice program performs this slicing for png images and writes a fragment of HTML to handle the image inclusion; it is distributed as a Unix source package, and is released under the GNU GPLv2.
